Small Tripod

small tripod

The beauty of this small tripod is in the simplicity of the design. There are no complicated buttons or levers and everything is straightforward and well thought out. The shape of the legs allows for them to easily fit together to form an ergonomic handle for hand-held photo or video. This is a factor that has become increasingly important with the growing popularity of vlogging.

The matte texture of the plastic also makes it easier to hold than if it were completely smooth. Another great element of this design the rubberized material on the bottom of the feet and under the screw where the camera attaches. This material serves two purposes. First, it allows for the camera to grip onto the tripod better than plastic and the tripod to grip onto the surface on which it is placed. Additionally, it prevents the hard plastic of the tripod from scratching the camera or surface and vice versa.

There is one button on the tripod and it is clear that it operates the ball-head of the tripod to allow it to swivel around to get the perfect angle. The screw used to attach the camera to the tripod is also extremely important. If the screw is not sturdy enough, the camera could come detached which could lead to a broken camera.

Something a bit strange is that there is no branding on the tripod itself. As a consumer, I don’t really mind, however, it could be annoying if I wanted to order another and couldn’t remember where I got it. If I were part of the brand, I would consider adding a small tasteful logo somewhere on the tripod.
